Grooming Policies

• At Aardvarks we ALWAYS do what is in the best interest of the dog and never force them to do anything. "Comfort over vanity". Our very experienced groomers will always try a multitude of techniques and handling styles to make every dog as comfortable as possible. If the dog is showing high levels of stress or aggression that isn't subsiding, and the possibility of putting themselves or the groomer at risk or injury, We will not continue the groom at that time and recommend calming sedatives and to consult with your vet on options before returning to next appointment. 

• Dematting: In the case of extreme matting, if they are unable to be brushed out after consulting with groomer, the mats may need to be shaved out & the coat evened out giving the dog a FULL groom. This is prevent further matting or infections. Additional fees are associated on a case by case basis and may vary. 

• All dog must be up to date on their rabies vaccine.

• We will not pluck ears unless it is absolutely necessary and the dog tolerates it. ( It is no longer recommended as it has been found to more likely cause more issues than it fixes them.

• Cancelations and No Shows:

• If the dog arrives more than 15 minutes late to a scheduled appointment and you have not reached out to our front desk, It will be considered a no show and they will most likely need to be rescheduled. Cancelations must be made 24 hours in advance. No show fee is 80% of total base groom price, Late cancellation (less than 24 hours notice) is 25% of total base groom price. Must be paid before new appointment can be made.
